Walter Sisulu University (WSU) has confirmed that online registration for returning students and first time entering students who completed Grade 12 before 2021 with firm admission offers will be open from Tuesday, January 18, to Friday, February 4.
Online registration for 2021 Grade 12s will open from Monday, January 24, to Friday, 28 January; this after the release of their results by the Department of Basic Education.
The faculty of health sciences has already commenced registration on Monday, January 10.
Amendments to registration, such as subject cancellations and/or additions, will take place from February 7 to 25.
Online registration has now become the norm for most, if not all higher education institutions, even more critical in light of the pandemic that continues to grip the world and WSU is no different.

Students will require the following to complete their registrations:
International students will, in addition; require the following:
Students who do not have access to computers may register at the following campus computer labs:
Vice-chancellor, Professor Rushiella Songca, said, “Our online registration portal is user friendly and easy to navigate. It can also be accessed via cellphone, tablet and laptop and will not consume a lot of data. In addition to this, all new students will receive a tablet or laptop to assist them with their educational needs during their time of study at WSU.”
“We urge all students and parents to utilise the online registration to avoid gathering on campuses. This will save them both time and money. Additionally, by avoiding congregating on the campus, we will be in keeping with national directive to avoid crowds and enclosed spaces during this heightened period of the fourth wave of COVID-19. All registration is 100% online and we strongly advise all new and returning students to use our registration portal from January 10.”
